Harmonizing Heart and Mind: The Biofeedback Soundbath Experience

Humanspace Events

On August 8th, Jason Snell and I hosted a Biofeedback Soundbath at Gaia Nomaya in Brooklyn, NY, where thirty participants lay down and listened as our heartbeats and brainwaves were translated into music.

A biofeedback soundbath is an experience that blends science with relaxation. Participants wore headbands to track their brain's electrical activity (EEG) and heart monitors to track their heartbeat. These devices sent our physiological data to a computer, which Jason’s software used to create music in real-time.

As the brainwaves and heart rhythms were transformed into sound, something remarkable occurred. People reported feeling their own heartbeats and brainwaves sync up with ours. Many experienced deep, almost psychedelic visions—portals of light, a sense of floating, and an altered sense of time and space. Others reported profound introspection and relaxation. All of this was made possible through the simple yet powerful act of gathering together, synchronizing our heart-mind frequencies, and creating music.

This experience demonstrated the incredible connection between our thoughts, emotions, hearts, and minds. It wasn't just about listening to soothing sounds; it was about creating coherence within ourselves and with the group.

We are deeply grateful for the trust and energy that participants brought to this experience. If you're interested in joining us for future events, visit the Humanspace Events tab to explore upcoming offerings and save your spot.

Invitation: To explore heart-mind coherence, take 5 minutes each day to sit quietly and connect with your breath and heartbeat. As your mind wanders, gently bring your focus back to the rhythm of your breath and heart. This practice can help you cultivate a sense of harmony between mind and heart.
