The Yoga of Care
When was the last time you woke up feeling fully relaxed and content, with a smile on your face ?
If you feel restlessness or stress when you rise, this contemplation may nourish you.
Creating spaciousness
The breath arises slowly through the organs, the bones, the skin
And streams out fully, emptying all there is.
Our bodies are a limited and limiting form
With governing mechanisms and earthly constraints
When we awaken to this
We may want to fight, fix, solve
How do I get out of this state? Out of this limiting emotion, thought, form?
Remember that you are also pure presence in each moment. And that the limits are part of the whole.
There is an origin self in you that simply observes the happening, the drama of your life
Its characters, its pains, its pleasures, its stories.
Yet sometimes, it seems almost impossible to not feel identified with a story.
One may come to mind now, reading these words.
Know that these are the stories that you hold on to the tightest, that define your identity and perpetuate your suffering.
There is nothing wrong with that. We simply pause and see.
And we breathe, more deeply, more fully. Creating the spaciousness of awareness.
Poetic Prayer of Care
We offer ourselves the gift of care
In these difficult times
Creating pause
We surround ourselves with softness, softening inside our own pain
We meet ourselves as we are
It’s here, inside us, anyway
We meet ourselves fully and wholeheartedly
In our own rhythm
And welcome ourselves back home.
Allow patience to infuse your being.
Allow stillness to flood your gates.
Remember your true essence of peace.
Allow some movement to naturally arise in your body. Stretch, spread yourself. Soften the movements a little bit more than you want to. Meeting yourself in the gentle care you offer yourself through consciously softening, slowing down, your nervous system.
Tip: Do this gentle, simple prayer of care every evening and morning and notice your inner state. The more agitated you feel at the end and start of the day, the more your system will revel and relish in slowness, with time. With time.
Love,
Julie
